The Boots & Hanks Story — Driven by Family, Fueled by Heavy-Duty Passion

Ed “Boots” Zymblosky earned his nickname the moment he arrived in this world. When Boots’ father walked into the maternity ward proudly waving a tiny pair of baby booties, the delighted nurses christened the newborn “Boots,” and the name stuck for life. That same spirit of pride and determination shaped Boots’ future. At 19 he persuaded his mother to loan him $75 to buy a 1957 GMC 1-ton, which he quickly converted into a homemade wrecker. That single truck—and an ironclad work ethic—generated the seed money to open Boots & Hanks Towing in 1966.

More than half a century later, Boots still clocks in six days a week alongside his son Eddie. Together they’ve transformed a small towing outfit into one of the Northeast’s largest full-service heavy-duty truck parts and recovery operations.

Heavy-Duty Truck Parts Headquarters

From two Pennsylvania locations—Scranton and Harrisburg—Boots & Hanks stocks thousands of late-model new, used, and rebuilt components for Class 8 trucks and heavy equipment, with fresh inventory arriving daily. Our 20-acre salvage yards and climate-controlled warehouses carry:

  • Complete diesel engines & long blocks (CAT C15, Cummins ISX15, Volvo D13, Detroit Series 60, Mack MP series)
  • Certified ECMs, turbos & fuel system parts—each bench-tested and guaranteed
  • Rebuilt manual & automated transmissions such as Eaton-Fuller RTLO/FRLO, Allison automatics, and Mack & Meritor gearboxes, all dyno-tested and warrantied
  • Rockwell/Meritor front & rear differentials in popular ratios, plus complete axle assemblies
  • Body panels, hoods, cabs, doors, bumpers, LED headlamps, wheels & tires for Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, International, Volvo and more

Because we dismantle dozens of trucks every month, our website lists only a fraction of what’s on hand. If you don’t see it online, call—we probably have it on the shelf.

Global Shipping & Export Expertise

Whether you’re an owner-operator in Ohio or a fleet manager in Nairobi, our logistics team makes sourcing heavy-duty truck parts worldwide simple. We crate engines, container-load mixed parts, handle all export paperwork, and ship daily via truck, rail, air, and ocean freight. International customers trust our fast turnaround and no-nonsense core-return policies.

A Family Tradition of Service

Boots built the company on three principles—hard work, honesty, and customer satisfaction—and Eddie carries them forward, expanding into e-commerce and cutting-edge diesel technology without losing the handshake values that started it all. When you buy a part or request a recovery, you deal directly with a family that’s been “walking the walk” in the heavy-duty world for nearly 60 years.
